Sound Familiar?

I’ve completed more than 12 different “how to design an app” courses but still don’t know how to apply all this in practice

I designed an app I thought looked nice, but nobody knew how to use it

I feel I'm not an expert

I find it hard to put together what I already learned and create something end to end

I don’t know what tools to use – everyone recommends something different

“I stare at a blank screen and don’t know where to start"

We’ve all been there. But don’t worry – this course will teach you how to organize a repeatable work process. You’ll learn which aspects of app design are critical, and which are nice-to-have features you can think of later.

When you complete it, you’ll have all the blocks to build an app and know how to arrange them every time you’re working on a new thing. So next time, you’ll know how to define your starting point and your goal – AND how to get from one to the other.

Get tools to overcome the blank screen anxiety

  • Learn practical basics

Get to know the fundamentals and best practices to quickly build an app like you’re using Lego blocks.

  • Understand the technicalities

Know exactly what it takes to create user interfaces and keep them consistent across platforms.

  • Build your portfolio

Create a mobile interface prototype you can present to potential clients or employees to showcase your skills.

Become a badass app designer

  • Strategize the thing

Build and rework strategies around user experience and become a partner at the business table: ask the right questions, draw conclusions, and build trust.

  • Define the selling points

Create value-driven apps that solve real problems for people – and are way more than just fancy design.

  • Turn up the value

Build profitable business models integrated with your app’s value proposition to create win-win apps – for you and your users.

What's inside the course?
What's inside the course?

  • Step 1
You’ll learn how to create a well defined user group using our very own 99grit Profiling Deck so that you can solve real problems of real people.
  • Step 2
You learn how to generate hundreds of ideas for any given user problem. We use remote tools for ideation that allow you to maximise the number of ideas generated. You’ll also learn how to pick the best ideas through our prioritisation techniques.
  • Step 3
You learn how to use the ideas to create the overall Information Architecture - every idea generated that makes its way this far will be looked at and put into the context of the app. Afterwards we’ll look at them from the perspective of the user to create the process of how they will interact with them through a so called user-flow.
  • Step 4
You learn how to use Adobe XD - our go to design and prototyping tool. You’ll learn everything there is to know to make your design stand out. We’ll look at how each panel works and how to use it in an actual commercial example. No prior experience or knowledge is required.
  • Step 5
Using Adobe XD you’ll learn how to create app interface wireframes to showcase and fully grasp the concept of the solution. You’ll reuse the knowledge and the information you already gathered during the course i.e. Information Architecture and User Flow.
  • Step 6
You’ll learn how to create a visual component moodboard built of typography, illustration, color, shape language and other areas of inspiration to quickly gauge which are the best directions to take the app to.
  • Step 7

You’ll learn how to create the high fidelity visual version of the app using the wireframes and the visual moodboard. At this stage you’ll also learn how to add interactions to your design so that you can bring the ideas to life and show the final result to any user globally.

For a long time I really wanted to get into UX design but I was just too scared to start and Andy helped me a lot in this sense.
